Lower back pressure helps the engine rev more freely, giving sharper throttle response and a livelier feel as it climbs towards the redline. The BMW E87 Z Pipe also brings out the classic straight six sound, adding a richer, smoother howl at higher revs without any drone at motorway speeds.
