SEAT IBIZA BOCUNEGRA
Striking Performance and Styling
The SEAT Ibiza Bocanegra, made from 2009 to 2010, stands out as a high performance supermini with its eye catching black design. It is equipped with a 1.4 litre twin charged TSI engine that delivers around 178 to 180 bhp and 184 lb ft of torque, paired with a seven speed DSG automatic transmission. With the addition of a Seat Ibiza Exhaust upgrade, performance feels sharper and more responsive, helping the car accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 7.2 seconds while maintaining a top speed of 140 mph.
Unique Design and Interior Features
On the outside, the Ibiza Bocanegra features distinctive blacked out double headlights, a honeycomb grille, and stylish 17 inch alloy wheels with low profile tyres. Inside, the cabin delivers a sporty feel with diamond quilted seat fabric, red stitching, and carbon fibre style accents, giving it a bold Cupra inspired character. Paired with an upgraded Seat Ibiza Exhaust System, the driving experience becomes more engaging with a deeper and more purposeful sound, while still maintaining impressive efficiency at around 44.8 mpg combined.
Technical Specifications and Market Position
The 1.4L twin charged TSI engine produces 131 kW 178 PS and 250 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels for responsive and engaging handling. Measuring 3977 mm in length, 1698 mm in width, and 1441 mm in height, and weighing approximately 1216 kg, it rides on 215 40 R17 tyres. In the UK market, it competes with rivals such as the Ford Fiesta ST and Volkswagen Polo GTI, standing out thanks to its unique styling and strong balance of performance and efficiency.
Enhanced Exhaust Solutions
During inspection, the original exhaust system was found to be heavily corroded, with excessive damage to the back box and a worn flexi section that was compromising performance. To resolve these issues, a centre box delete was carried out to remove restriction and significantly improve exhaust flow, resulting in a deeper and more aggressive tone. The damaged flexi pipe was replaced to restore structural integrity and ensure a secure, leak free connection. This Seat Ibiza Exhaust upgrade improved throttle response, enhanced reliability, and delivered a sharper exhaust note that better reflects the Bocanegra’s sporty character.
