NISSAN NT400 CABSTAR
Versatile Light Commercial Performance
The Nissan NT400 Cabstar is a flexible light commercial vehicle that hit the market in the early 2010s, designed for city and regional transport. It's powered by a 2.5 litre YD25 four cylinder turbo diesel engine, delivering between 121 PS and 145 PS with torque of up to 350 Nm. With manual transmission options and built to Euro 5b+ standards, it relies heavily on its factory Nissan NT400 Cabstar Exhaust system, including a diesel particulate filter, to manage emissions and performance.
Optimised Dimensions and Efficiency
The NT400 comes with wheelbase options ranging from 2,500 mm to 3,400 mm and has gross vehicle weights from 3.4 to 4.5 tonnes. Its length varies between 4,546 mm and 6,674 mm, with kerb weights set for payloads up to 2,768 kg. A 90 litre fuel tank and long service intervals make it ideal for demanding commercial use, where efficiency and durability of the Nissan NT400 Cabstar Exhaust System are essential for consistent operation.
Competitive Edge in the UK Market
In the UK light truck market, the Nissan NT400 Cabstar competes with vehicles like the Iveco Daily and Ford Transit. Its balance of reliability, efficiency, and adaptability makes it a strong choice for operators who depend on dependable performance and a robust exhaust setup for daily workloads.
DKU Performance Exhaust Solutions
For this Nissan NT400 Cabstar, a Stage 3 DPF solution was carried out to resolve restriction issues within the factory Nissan NT400 Cabstar Exhaust. The original DPF system was limiting exhaust flow and creating excessive back pressure, which can negatively impact performance and engine longevity.
The upgraded Nissan NT400 Cabstar Exhaust System removes these restrictions, significantly improving gas flow and allowing the turbocharger to operate more efficiently. This results in smoother power delivery, improved throttle response, and reduced strain on the engine under load. The solution also enhances long term reliability and makes the vehicle far better suited to heavy duty commercial use.
