Ford Probe: An Overview
The Ford Probe, which hit the streets in 1989, is a stylish coupe that blends affordability with a futuristic design that stood out in the compact sports car market. Produced across two generations until 1997, it was available with both 2.0L 4 cylinder and 2.5L V6 engine options, offering a balance of everyday usability and sporty performance that continues to appeal to enthusiasts today.

The 2.0L inline 4 produces 118 hp and 172 Nm of torque, while the more powerful 2.5L V6 delivers 164 hp and 211 Nm of torque. This particular Ford Probe arrived with a heavily worn rear exhaust section that had previously been patched using U clamps, plates and bandages from the second box backwards. These temporary fixes made it difficult to identify proper joints and compromised both the strength and sealing of the system. The front section featured an older 2 into 1 layout leading into a box, with no modern sensors due to the vehicle’s age.
The rear section was carefully reworked to remove the makeshift repairs and restore a properly joined and secure Ford Probe Exhaust. By eliminating weak connection points and improving the overall fitment, we resolved leakage issues and significantly improved structural integrity. This resulted in smoother exhaust flow, improved reliability, and a cleaner, more refined exhaust note that better suits the character of the vehicle.
