FORD ESCORT RS TURBO
Ford Escort RS Turbo: A Turbocharged Classic
Launched in late 1984, the Ford Escort RS Turbo was Ford's first small car fitted with a turbocharger. Built as a special model for Group A racing, it set a new benchmark for performance in its class. Powered by a 1.6 litre turbocharged inline four engine with a Garrett T3 turbocharger, it produces 132 hp and 180 Nm of torque. Paired with a five speed manual gearbox and front wheel drive, it delivers strong acceleration and an engaging driving experience true to its motorsport roots.
Smart Design and Quick Handling
With MacPherson strut suspension and a viscous coupling limited slip differential, the Escort RS Turbo offers sharp handling and excellent traction for a front wheel drive performance car. Its lightweight design enhances agility while maintaining everyday usability, making it a true 1980s performance icon.
Ideal for Performance Enhancements
This Ford Escort RS Turbo is undergoing a full engine rebuild and interior refresh as part of a complete show ready restoration. To match the rebuilt engine, we are delivering a bespoke Ford Escort RS Turbo Exhaust System designed to maximise performance and visual impact. This upgrade focuses on improving exhaust flow, supporting turbo efficiency, and ensuring the vehicle performs as impressively as it looks once complete.
Upgrade with a Custom Stainless Steel Exhaust System
As part of the vehicle’s show preparation, a custom built stainless steel Ford Escort RS Turbo Exhaust will be installed to transform both sound and performance. By reducing restrictions and optimising flow, we have improved turbo response and delivered a deeper, more purposeful tone. This Ford Escort RS Turbo Exhaust Upgrade ensures the car not only meets show standards visually, but also delivers a refined and responsive driving experience on the road.
Following completion of this project, further classic vehicles are set to undergo similar upgrades, continuing a focus on high quality craftsmanship and performance driven enhancements.
