Overview of the Citroën DS3 THP DSport Plus

The 2013 Citroën DS3 1.6 THP DSport Plus is a sporty and stylish hot hatch powered by a 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol engine. With strong performance from the factory, this model is an excellent platform for a Citroen DS3 Exhaust upgrade designed to improve both sound and driving enjoyment. This project focuses on enhancing the overall character of the vehicle through a custom built exhaust solution.

To build on this performance, we developed a solution centred around an electronically valved rear back box with remote control functionality. This allows the driver to switch between a refined tone for daily use and a more aggressive exhaust note on demand, giving full control over the sound profile of the Citroen DS3 Exhaust System.

The 1.6 THP engine responds well to exhaust modifications due to its turbocharged setup. As part of this upgrade, a resonator delete option was included to further enhance exhaust flow and sharpen the tone. This modification increases volume while maintaining a clean and purposeful sound, perfectly complementing the performance characteristics of the DS3.
