RENAULT MEGANE RENAULT SPORT
Renault Megane RS Power and Performance
The Renault Megane RS is an exciting hot hatch from Renault Sport, featuring a 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing around 296 to 300 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. It delivers strong performance for both road driving and track use, combining sharp acceleration with everyday usability. This particular vehicle benefitted from a targeted Renault Megane RS Exhaust upgrade, designed to unlock more character and improve overall engine response.
Transmission and Handling Innovations
This model is available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed EDC automatic gearbox. The advanced 4CONTROL four-wheel steering system enhances agility at lower speeds and improves stability at higher speeds, helping the car feel responsive and planted in all driving conditions. With the upgraded Renault Megane RS Exhaust System in place, the driving experience is further enhanced through improved throttle precision and a more engaging connection to the car.
Acceleration and Chassis Details
The Megane RS can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed close to 160 mph. Different chassis options are available, including the Cup chassis with a mechanical limited-slip differential for enhanced cornering grip. Weighing around 1,400 kg, it offers an excellent balance between agility and stability, now complemented by improved exhaust flow and reduced restriction.
Interior Features and Exhaust Enhancements
Inside, the Megane RS features a digital dashboard and R.S. Monitor with MULTI-SENSE driving modes, allowing the driver to tailor the car’s character. Optional Alcantara steering wheels and supportive sports seats add to the performance-focused feel.
As part of the work carried out, a decat pipe was professionally fitted to optimise the Renault Megane RS Exhaust. Heat welded nuts were used during installation to ensure a strong and durable connection capable of withstanding high temperatures. This upgrade reduces back pressure, sharpens throttle response, and delivers a significantly more aggressive and engaging exhaust note, transforming both sound and performance.
