Sporty Engineering and Performance
The Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.0 EcoBoost is a lively and efficient hot hatch, combining turbocharged performance with everyday usability. This vehicle came in with a back box delete already fitted, which had increased volume but created an overly loud and less refined exhaust note. The focus of this Ford Fiesta Zetec S Exhaust Upgrade was to restore balance by refining the sound while keeping a sporty character and improving overall drivability.
Transmission and Dimensions
As a compact front wheel drive model, the Fiesta Zetec S responds well to a carefully designed Ford Fiesta Zetec S Exhaust System. The work carried out focused on integrating components that suit the vehicle’s layout, ensuring safe routing, proper fitment, and a clean finish while enhancing both sound and performance.
Efficiency and Environmental Impact
The existing back box delete resulted in excessive noise and cabin drone. This was resolved by introducing a sports resonator in the centre section along with a properly matched rear silencer. This setup maintains efficient exhaust gas flow while significantly improving comfort, delivering a smoother and more controlled driving experience without unnecessary harshness.
Enhancements and Exhaust Upgrades
To achieve the desired result, a Sports Back Box with a twin tip on the right hand side was installed, paired with a Sports Resonator in the centre section. This combination reduces unwanted noise from the previous setup while producing a deeper and more refined tone. The system delivers a clean, sporty sound without being overpowering, making it ideal for daily driving.
A Focus RS style dual exit conversion was also considered. However, due to the fuel lines running along the left hand side of the vehicle, routing exhaust pipework in that area would present a safety risk due to heat exposure and potential damage. The final solution retains a right hand twin tip configuration, ensuring both safety and performance are optimised while delivering a high quality finish and improved exhaust note.
