FIAT CINQUECENTO
Classic Compact City Car
The FIAT CINQUECENTO is a throwback compact city car made between 1991 and 1998. It stands out with its unique three door hatchback design, front engine layout, and front wheel drive setup. With its practical size of 3,227 mm long and 1,487 mm wide, it comfortably fits five people, making it a lightweight and efficient choice for city driving. Weighing around 735 kg and equipped with a 35 litre fuel tank, it remains a simple and economical classic.
Engine and Driving Experience
Under the bonnet, engine options range from 704 cc to 1,108 cc. The 1.1 litre Sporting model produces 54 hp (40 kW) and approximately 99 Nm of torque, reaching a top speed of around 150 kmh. Paired with a manual gearbox and petrol engine, the Cinquecento delivers a lively and engaging driving experience thanks to its light overall weight.
Technical Specs and Market Comparison
Since its launch in 1991, the FIAT CINQUECENTO has offered small petrol engines producing up to 40 kW (54 PS) and close to 99 Nm of torque. With a top speed of approximately 93 mph (150 kmh), compact dimensions, and low weight, it remains efficient for urban use. When compared with rivals such as the Austin Metro and Suzuki Swift, it combines competitive fuel economy with distinctive Italian styling and strong enthusiast appeal.
Exhaust Upgrades and Performance Enhancements
Due to the vehicle’s age and older engine management system, ECU remapping is not possible on this model. To overcome this limitation, we focused on improving performance and sound through a custom FIAT CINQUECENTO Exhaust solution. A bespoke stainless steel FIAT CINQUECENTO Exhaust System significantly improves exhaust flow, sharpens throttle response, and delivers a deeper, sportier tone. This FIAT CINQUECENTO Exhaust Upgrade transforms the driving experience while maintaining reliability, making it the most effective modification for enhancing both sound and character on this classic Fiat.
