BMW X4 M40i Performance Overview

This vehicle received a Stage 1 ECU remap, carefully recalibrating the engine software to safely increase power and torque. The upgrade enhances throttle response, improves mid range pull, and delivers a more urgent, responsive driving experience while maintaining everyday drivability. Alongside the software upgrade, the BMW X4 Exhaust characteristics were improved through optimised engine output, resulting in a sharper and more refined exhaust note.

Dimensions and Efficiency
The BMW X4 M40i measures 4752 mm in length, 1918 mm in width, and 1621 mm in height, with a 2864 mm wheelbase. It balances sporty coupe styling with SUV practicality. Weighing approximately 1,880 kg and powered by petrol, it offers a combined fuel economy of around 24.4 mpg, making it suitable for both daily driving and performance focused use.

With the Stage 1 remap applied, the engine operates more efficiently under load, optimising performance across the rev range while retaining smooth power delivery. This also supports improved flow through the BMW X4 Exhaust System, enhancing both efficiency and sound.

The BMW X4 M40i responds exceptionally well to performance tuning, particularly ECU software upgrades. The completed Stage 1 remap unlocks additional performance from the factory turbocharged engine, increasing power output and improving overall engine responsiveness.

By optimising boost pressure, ignition timing, and fuel delivery, we improved the performance of the entire system including the BMW X4 Exhaust System, allowing for better flow characteristics and a deeper, more pronounced sporty exhaust note under acceleration.
